Food Revolution

Hii!

Today I'm going to talk about the history and the revolution of food. Did you know that food actually used to be more healthy than that it is today?

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor mcdonaldsYou would think that with the knowledge we have ,ow, we would eat more healty but actually the opposite is happening. Back in the days, people would eat more natural and fresh food while nowedays we eat lots of processed food. The clearest example is McDonalds which didn't even
exist then. Another example are supermarkets where there is always the possibility to buy
preprepped meals which would be healthy years ago, but now there are a lot of chemicals
in it. While you can also just buy normal, fresh ingredients to cook a healthy and fresh meal, people still prefer unhealthy, processed food. The same thing is also happening with fruit.
Nowedays it seems normal to buy pre-cut, processed pieces of fruit instead of a normal
full piece of fruit.

I can't tell you if people do it because they are lazy or they
say they don't have the time to cut and cook everything, but my opinion will always
BONI SELECTION ananasstukjes 250gbe that it is more healthy and eventually cheaper to do most cooking yourself. That is also the explenation fot me why there is so much obisity in the world. It all makes sense when you put it next to each other.

My favourite recipe

Hi!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor pasta carbonaraToday i'm going to tell what my favourite food is and i'm also gonna share my favourite recipe.
I absolutely looooovveee a good spaghetti carbonara. I love the cheese but also the bacon in it.

My favourite recipe is one from Jamie Oliver. He is a famous Brittisch chef.
I think his recipe is the best. Here is the recipe.

The ingredients are: - 3 large egg yolks,
                               - 40 g Parmesan cheese , plus extra to serve,
                               - 1 x 150 g piece of pancetta,
                               - 200 g spaghetti,
                               - 1 clove of garlic,
                               - extra virgin olive oil.

Method:
  1. Put the egg yolks into a bowl, finely grate in the Parmesan, season with pepper, then mix well with a fork and put to one side.
  2. Cut any hard skin off the pancetta and set aside, then chop the meat.
  3. Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling salted water until al dente.
  4. Meanwhile, rub the pancetta skin, if you have any, all over the base of a medium frying pan, then place over a medium-high heat.
  5. Peel the garlic, then crush with the palm of your hand, add it to the pan and leave it to flavour the fat for 1 minute. Stir in the pancetta, then cook for 4 minutes, or until it starts to crisp up.
  6. Pick out and discard the garlic from the pan, then, reserving some of the cooking water, drain and add the spaghetti. Toss well over the heat so it really soaks up all that lovely flavour, then remove the pan from the heat.
  7. Add a splash of the cooking water and toss well, season with pepper, then pour in the egg mixture – the pan will help to cook the egg gently, rather than scrambling it. Toss well, adding more cooking water until it’s lovely and glossy.
  8. Serve with a grating of Parmesan and an extra twist of pepper.
  9. Enjoy!

Tip: Use ready-sliced quality pancetta if you can’t buy it in one piece. It’s traditional to use spaghetti in this recipe, but bucatini or rigatoni are just as good.

Did you knows about food

Hi!

Today, I'm going to tell you a few did you knows about food. Let's begin.

ben and jerry's flavor graveyard

Did you know that in America, a pizza white measurments of 4685 square meters is eaten daily. This equales to about 350 slices per second! And you thought Italians eat a lot of pizza ;)

wavy gravy graveyardBen & Jerry's has a bizarre graveyard for ice cream flavors that failed. Here are 10 of the flavors that have melted away. Number one is Schweddy Balls. This ice cream with a name inspired by a famous Saturday Night Live sketch featured vanilla ice cream with a bit of rum, plus fudge-covered rum and malt balls. The second flavor is Wavy Gravy. This caramel and cashew Brazil nut flavor stayed on shelves for eight years. The flavor also featured roasted almonds and a chocolate hazelnut fudge swirl.

the flavour coming now is one with a really weird name, in my opinion. It is Turtle Soup
This vanilla fudge covered ice cream featured fudge-covered caramels, cashews, and a caramel swirl, but it only lasted on shelves for five years.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor baby wortelFossil Fuel is another taste with a special name. This dinosaur-themed sweet cream ice cream was loaded with chocolate cookie pieces and fudge dinosaurs. It was complete with a fudge swirl. The fourth one is Miz Jelena's Sweet Potato Pie. This ice ginger ice cream with a fudge swirl throughout had a year-long run. The sixth one is White Russian. This achingly-themed coffee ice cream (complete with Kahlua) may no longer be on shelves, but Ben & Jerry's flavor graveyard says it remains alive in scoop shops. There are also other names on the graveyard like Tuskeegee Chunk, Oh Pear, Dastardly Mash and Economic Crunch.

Another fun fact is that baby carrot's don't exist. You know, those little carrots you can get at McDonalds? You are just eating a big carrot which they have peeled so much that it became extra small.

This were my did you knows about food,I hope you enjoyed!
